This article is featured in the Australasian Dentist July 2007 Edition One of the innovative new products recently released by Ark Health is a self–adhesive, transparent polymer matrix. The Dispens-O-Mat is designed for class III & IV anterior restorations and all conventional light-cured composite materials on posterior teeth. The self-adhesive ends of these very thin (.05 mm / .0019”), transparent matrices, eliminate the need to hold the matrix anteriorly or use a matrix retainer that blocks out light-curing rays posteriorly. This can be of particular importance during difficult cusp reconstruction on upper and lower molars. The Anterior and Incisal Dispens-O-Mat matrices offer a fast and very economical method in restoring incisal edges, corners and extensive crown fractures. The Pre-molar and Molar matrices can be placed buccally, lingually or palatally being suitable for all filling variations and assisting inlay insertion.Properly placed and fixed with Ark Health’s new transparent “The Wedge”, these matrices allow a complete light-curing of all cavity surfaces including the proximal boxes of MOD cavities. The Dispens-O-Mat provides a smooth surfaced void free restoration requiring minimal finishing and polishing with the opportunity to all but eliminate excess interproximal material.Being self-adhesive, the matrices are held in place without the requirement to use fingers or bulky matrix holders. The Dispens-O-Mat is available in easy-dispensing boxes of 100 in the following sizes: Anterior 6mm, 7mm, 8mm Incisal 15mm Premolar 6mm, 7mm, 8mm Molar 6mm, 7mm, 8mm Ark Health is receiving very positive feedback on all the Dispens-O-Mat matrices from the profession who see them becoming the new standard for self and light-cured composite fillings. For more information please call Ark Health Dental on (02) 9477 4610 |
